Hi Velvet, since we last spoke, what have you been up to?
I have been working on a script about people with addictions so I’ve been doing a lot of research and focus groups. I am very excited to see it come to life.
Tell us about your latest project and how you got involved:
I am collaborating with a LA based actress and producer, Mireya Rios; the project is a black comedy about modern love in New York. Personal experiences inspired this project.
What was your experience like at Cannes Film Festival?
Cannes was a very important point in my career, to be surrounded with such talent and more so acknowledge it all in that light, was truly a blessing. I met many influential people in the industry and our movie was viewed at Cannes, which was a privilege.
I understand you met a lot of different directors, also. How was that?
That was incredible and inspiring.
What was the most exciting thing about being at Cannes? Was this your first time?
Yes it was my first time and hopefully not the last. I truly enjoyed watching amazing movies and meeting incredible people.
What other projects are you working on at the moment?
I am working as an associate producer on a VR film about domestic violence in New York.
What is one thing you have learned the most in the last year, since we spoke?
Patience, nothing comes easy.
