Variety’s 2019 Power Of Women Event In Beverly Hills

The 2019 Power Of Women event in Beverly Hills, brought out some of the world’s most incredible women who have made a difference through their charity work and philanthropic efforts over the years.

The honorees included Mariah Carey, Jennifer Aniston, Chaka Khan, Awkwafina, Brie Larson and Dana Walden - presented by Variety In partnership with Lifetime Televison. This amazing event was held at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons in an intimate setting with a guest list of around 600 people.

Mariah Carey, who was presented her award by one of the youngest guests of the night -Mykai-Michelle from the new TV series Mixed-ish -gave the audience a very touching and heartfelt speech. Growing up as a bi-racial girl in New York, Mariah recalled the struggles she endured -but how she never gave up on what she loved the most -singing and songwriting. Creating music became a safe harbor for her, away from the harshness of reality -and to later becoming a global icon in a position to help others -not only through her music and lyrics, but through The Fresh Air Fund and her foundation ‘Camp Mariah’ for underprivileged kids.

This celebration honoring powerful women in the world, was a very uplifting experience for all those involved -and a reminder of just how giving and inspirational all of the honorees are in their everyday lives -no matter how hectic their schedules are, they still find the time to help others along the way.

Thank you to Variety for continuing to recognize strong females in all areas and walks of life -which in turn helps make the world a better place -and a huge thank you also to Frank Publicity for the opportunity!
