Tomas Castillo is a very fortunate guy. First of all, he was born in Switzerland to a Swiss mother and a Spanish father so he can basically go anywhere in the world and be welcomed with open arms. In fact, he has gone to many parts of the globe as a sound designer who has created music and post-production sound for many well-known clients in the film, TV, radio and advertising industries. His creations span the spectrum of EDM (Electronic Dance Music) styles that include, deep, electro, progressive, house, downtempo and dubstep.

Tomas is so popular in the music business that he has picked up several nicknames in his 25 years as a DJ, Sound Engineer, Remixer, Producer, Composer and Multi-task artist. A few of his more familiar names are: Immaculate Ibiza, Solar Sides and Primal. Many of us are lucky if we get one endearing nickname to treasure and this artist has at least the three we mentioned but we suspect even more.

Tomas broke into the EDM as a DJ in the mid-90s and lead numerous music projects under his pseudonyms Immaculate Ibiza and Solar Sides. He toured world-wide doing shows but he was a ten-year resident at the fashionable and celebrated island of Ibiza, where the stars go to relax and listen to music hosted by the likes of Tomas. He has worked with artists such as Kim Mazelle, Dawn Tallman, Mateo Matos and Charlotte Rampling. He has also created projects for companies such as. Sony BMG France, SFX Recordings, King Street Sounds and Ibiza Sonica among others.

He earned his degree in Sound Engineering at the Sound Engineering Graduate School at Lausanne, Switzerland, and at nineteen released his first record with the legendary King Street Sound in New York. A couple of years after that, Tomas and his producer friend Esteban Lucci created Solar Sides, a music combo that mixed house and electronic beats with jazz standards.

His career has seen him work on countless albums, remixes and compilations, collaborating with some amazing artists and musicians. The writing and producing of “Electrolyse” has been one of the many highlights in his professional career. It featured remixes of classic jazz standards from the fabled jazz record label Vogue that included the famous Geroge Gershwin and Dizzy Gillespie. Besides touring, Tomas has also hosted his own radio show called Solar Sides Selections on the isle of Ibiza.
