California native Martha Davis and The Motels finally got to celebrate the 40 year anniversary at their much anticipated concert at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, this past Saturday night. With opening acts Limberlost and The Swansons, it was encouraging to catch live music again at one of LA’s longest standing venues that has housed such performers as (the original) Fleetwood Mac (before Stevie Nicks joined the band), The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC and many more.

Martha Davis never disappoints, with her amazing vocals, guitar playing and her unmistakable songwriting with a setlist that included: Tipping Point, Mission of Mercy, So LA, Counting, Danger, Closets and Bullets, Suddenly Last Summer, Lucky Stars, Careful, Party Pros, Light Me Up, Celia, Art Fails, If Not Now The When, Nothing, Total Control, Apocalypso, Only The Lonely and Last Few Beautiful Days.

After a strange couple of years without any live music and restricted performances due to the pandemic, The Motels will now continue their tour across the US beginning later this month. It is safe to say Martha Davis does not plan on slowing down any time soon and will always remain one of the most incredible female artist/musicians in music, to this day!

A big thank you to all the great staff at Whisky A Go Go, including Jake Perry and a special shout out to Randy Simcox who provided the setlist from the venue and Denise Jansen and everyone at The Motels Featuring Martha Davis group on FB for all the latest updates!
