It’s always like a miracle to see artists, actors and musicians actually making a living through their art. However, sometimes it’s a dream to most artists, that never comes true. But the ones who do manage to eke out a living, no matter how meagre it might be, are the ones who can’t live without creating something artistic on a regular basis. Harry Thynne knows what all this is about.

Harry has spent over two decades working as a musician and producer and shows no sign of slowing down. There is a passion that drives him daily to give his whole self in the pursuit of performing and creating. ‘Leaving it all on the field’, when performing live. He loves living in LA and touring the US regularly. He has said of the US, “My time in the states has been amazing. These have been some of the best years of my life”.

What about the pandemic? How did Covid affect this unique artist? He had worked extremely hard to establish himself in the LA music scene and in the US, in general. He had even signed with a management company, had a close circle of friends and a tour scheduled when the pandemic hit — and lockdowns and mass cancellation of live gigs began in earnest. All of the things that Harry had come to hold dear were simply taken away in the blink of an eye.

What’s a guy to do? What’s a performing musician to do? Almost everything did fall apart for this devoted drummer. Two years have passed since the last show before the pandemic wiped out live music around the globe. Since then Harry has had to re-adjust and take his work online and collaborate remotely. As venues began to reopen and live music started to occur again, Harry rushed out to be involved. Years without performing is a strange change for someone who was used to performing every week. Now that the endemic stage appears to be here, live music is back and Harry is back with it.

He is thriving again even in the midst of disaster. Among many other new projects that Harry has going on, he is developing a platform to produce and promote collaborations between Australian and US artists.

Harry is one of our favorite artists and musicians. Why? Because he never gives up and he never lets go of his dream. He is an inspiration to us all in that if he is knocked down, he gets up, dusts himself off, and gets back in the saddle, so to speak. In his case, he gets back on his drum stool and starts playing beautiful music. Thank you, Harry, for showing us how it should be done!
