Music Producer, Composer and Songwriter Sjae Continuing to Inspire Others Through Music

Sjae also known as Samantha Powell or Sammy Jay is no newcomer to the music scene. As a seasoned producer, singer and songwriter, she has managed to carve out a noteworthy career for herself by collaborating and writing for others, while also having her music placed on several networks, including Netflix, MTV and Hulu.

Her upcoming EP, ‘Paper Hearts,’ which is set to be released later this year, is described as a mixture of soul, country and folk all rolled into one. The first single from the EP “Paper Hearts” was released in early October to rave reviews. On top of her love and passion for music and strong work ethic, Sjae has also managed to overcome thyroid cancer which unfortunately struck her just as the pandemic began back in 2020.

Proving she has not let any of these setbacks and tragedies get the best of her, including losing her beloved mother not so long ago, Sjae is the perfect example of courage and finding strength through her creativity. Her message of vulnerability with a strong sense of hope, is what makes an artist like her, a true inspiration.

Sjae’s notable works include collaborations with Raphael Saadiq, as a composer on Netflix’s ‘After Party’ and songwriter and vocalist in Disney’s ‘Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur’. Raphael also appears on SJae’s 2019 EP, ‘First’, along with other featured artists such as Sam Sparro.
