Hey! It’s great meeting you Alec and love your work! When did you first got into music?

When your passion calls, it’s essential you answer. In 2015, the idea of becoming a rapper felt possible and I remember thinking “wow I want to do this”. I was only 17 and in the 11th grade, while most of my time was spent in class or at my first day job. I would still obsessively think about music.

Who were some of your influences growing up?

In the early days around 2004–2009 my mother introduced me to a lot of great rap music: Kanye, Jay Z, Nas, Eminem, 50 Cent, and many others. It seemed amazing and the quality of their music would just drive you into wanting to listen to it over and over.

What kind of training have you had, if any or are you self-taught?

Over the last 8 years, I had to take it upon myself to learn many different roles that are essential with being an independent artist. A mixer, engineer, writer, video editor, and many more roles were things I had to learn. Though my attempts weren’t that great in the beginning, over the years it grew into something that’s worth listening to. I didn’t have any connections or anyone to help me, so I had to learn everything from scratch and YouTube tutorials were my best friend!

Tell us about your new music/album:

After 7 years of dropping music consistently leading up to over 150+ songs, I feel like I just departed the development era and have settled into a new role/chapter. The offerings are now at the highest levels of quality it’s ever been and I’m excited to keep going with what I’ve learned. Over the next year, I will be dropping 2 new songs every 3 weeks and they all range from different vibes and emotions. It’s worth following!

What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?

I’ve barely scratched the surface and there’s still many things I look forward to achieving but there are still a few milestones that were small enough to be celebrated. Accumulating 6 million streams to date and having a digital story about a past song airing on live television — but what feels the greatest, is becoming this good of a rapper.

If you had a chance to work alongside anybody who would that be?

There are many artists I dream of collaborating with, but some would include: Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Logic, Jay Z, Kanye, Russ, Big Sean, Ariana Grande, Tyga, Dua Lipa, the list goes on. I want to work with everyone and anyone who makes great music!

What other projects do you have coming up?

I have a new album titled “Tell Me Again” being released on August 25 and I am currently working on the one after that for 2024. Most importantly, I will be dropping 2 new songs every 3 weeks for the next year or however long until I blow up to a mainstream level. I’m excited and very confident about what I have to offer this industry.

What is your best piece of advice for other aspiring artists?

If it’s meant to happen for you, it will. Start now. Allow yourself 5–10 years to develop before expecting any type of accolades or creating anything special. Making it past the cringe faze is the hardest but it’s beautiful on the other side. Study the greats, the ones who evolved over the years and took their careers to the highest of levels.
