Browsing through Estelle Descard’s portfolio one begins to realize how necessary makeup is in the world of fashion, filmmaking and photography. After that revelation, then another thought comes to the surface of one’s mind: being a makeup artist is just that: an art and the makeup artist is most definitely a true artist.

Estelle is a master makeup artist and she has worked with top celebrities, models, actors and actresses and last year she brought her talent to the set of the motion picture June & John. She worked on that film for three months as a department head makeup artist. It was directed by the legendary French filmmaker Luc Besson, who also helmed other famous movies such as The Fifth Element, Le Grand Bleu, Leon: The Professional, Lucy and La Femme Nikita. Some of the other films she has been the makeup artist for are Tony, Sweet Lies and Two Witches, among others.

Estelle is arguably one of the busiest and best makeup artists in town. She is in-demand for movies, photography and music videos.

She was the makeup artist for the music video for Michael Woodard, who was the winner of American Idol. Estelle worked with the Disney star Laura Marano on her music video and did the makeup for Germaine Franco for the Oscars. She has worked with one of America’s favorite actors, Kurt Russell, when he was invited to be on the cover of the popular magazine Cowboys and Indians. Estelle’s unique skills have also enhanced the beauty of fashion models for world famous magazines such as Vogue and Gala, to name a few.

When products are being shot with models representing them, Estelle is there to guarantee that the models look their best. She did the exquisite makeup on the ad shots for Spynx Razors and Graziela Jewelry, and she made sure that the models for True Marker looked great when those ads were photographed. MISA Los Angeles couldn’t have chosen a more perfect makeup artist than Estelle when their models walked toward the camera. And Beladora Jewelry, never looked better than on models who were makeup by Estelle.

Her work is as flawless as it is seamless. The models, actors and actresses, who sit for her while she does her magic can’t believe what a difference it makes having a real makeup artist do their makeup. The subtle laying on of color and blending and sweeping one tone into another without the appearance of having any makeup on at all is the goal that all makeup artists aspire to achieve. Estelle achieves it every single time.
