John Oates Talks About His New Album ‘Arkansas’ And The Upcoming Hall & Oates Tour With Train
John Oates has been busy in the studio putting the finishing touches to his latest album ‘Arkansas’, set for release on itunes February 2nd. Working alongside some of the best musicians around — Sam Bush (mandolin), Russ Pahl (pedal steel), Guthrie Trapp (electric guitar), Steve Mackey (bass), Nathaniel Smith (cello) and Josh Day (drums and percussion), Arkansas explores John Oates musical roots and influences.
He put together a collection of songs from the late 1920’s and the early 1930’s giving the album a classic Americana sound, yet adding his own personal style to it. The album was recorded in Nashville and produced by John Oates as well as engineer and mixer David Kalmusky. In a recent interview John mentions how this album really portrays who he is as a musician as well as the songs that showcase his voice the most. John will be bringing Arkansas on the road for a promotional touring which will include The Troubador in LA on February 10th.
