“Go Out There And Shine”, Inspirational Words From Canadian Actor Yannik Collin
We asked the successful Canadian actor what advice he would give to aspiring performers and answer was simple and humble: “It’s going to sound cheesy but to never give up no matter what, we all go through some rough times but at some point you’re going to have your moment. Oh and also, to stop being lazy. I am speaking for myself too when I say that. It’s so easy to push everything to the side and do something else that is more fun. Just keep in mind that the people that you follow on Instagram/Twitter etc, they actually did the ‘not so fun’ stuff to get where they are, so why wouldn’t you be able to do it? Go out there and shine.”
Great advice from someone who did all the ‘not so fun’ stuff to get where he is today. Yannik has established himself in L.A. (where he currently resides) as an actor who can do whatever the role calls for. He does all the work before he ever sets foot on a sound stage or TV set. He knows his character-front to back and inside and out and he knows his lines and where he should be when the camera is rolling. The ‘not so fun’ stuff, of course, sets you up for the fun stuff — the performance and the feeling of accomplishment when you know that you have become the character who you are portraying.
We asked him who he would like to work with and he told us: “There are so many amazing people work in this industry, there are so many people I want to meet and talk to but, because I have to choose, I would have to go with Jake Gyllenhaal. I’m a big fan of his work and every single time he has a movie coming out I get very excited. He has so much versatility as an actor, every movie he chose to make is always different from one another and he always nails his part in it. It’s so interesting to watch him act, he makes choices that I would never imagined of and that keeps me always glued to my seat just waiting to be surprised by his acting.
Yannik is not only a gifted actor but he is a genuinely nice human being. We can tell that just by how he talks about others and the way that he humbly speaks about himself. We are looking forward to seeing him in several new projects he is involved with for 2017.
