French Composer, Singer and Songwriter Yael Benamour Has A Lot to Be Excited About
Almost everybody loves movies and a lot of people actually read the credits while they sit in those big dark buildings. The credits, in case you didn’t know, are the names of people who worked on the film such as the director, producer, writer, composer, etc. Those who do read the credits are used to seeing the music being composed by…men. Well, that’s changing and for the better because composer Yael Benamour, the French Award-winning composer, singer/songwriter and music producer is rapidly gaining credits for composing fantastic music scores. She has been in the world of music since she started playing the piano at age 5 and composed her first piece when she was twelve.
Yael was a huge success as a singer/songwriter and music producer and sold several million albums worldwide as she got older. She has had extensive experience as a composer by handling a wide variety of European media projects in different genres and has collaborated as a composer/arranger with famous French and American artists on their albums.
Yael is on a non-stop musical journey that has her original compositions featured in TV shows all over the world. She is also working on scores for several films in preparation for their release in 2023. Her biggest passion, however, is to score movies, so, she moved to Los Angeles to make her dream come true. And her dreams are manifesting themselves in the highly successful music she has composed for several films that are going to be released next month. One of them is The Mean One, directed by Steven LaMorte and is a Grinch horror movie starring David Howard Thornton, who was in Terrifier 2. There is a lot of pre-release praise not only for the film but also for Yael’s perfectly appropriate and creative music score.
Yael’s approach for scoring the movie was a very orchestral and fantastic genre, which are her two favorite styles of writing. The Mean One is a highly anticipated Christmas horror film that was even announced and talked about on the Drew Barrymore Show. They were very excited to see it. Yael is more than dedicated to her musical life and her work, especially when it comes to scoring films. The continued success of her compositions and the films she works on demonstrates the high levels of discipline, love and the total grasp she has for music and for composing excellent and meaningful film scores.
The Mean One will be released in theaters December 9th.
