Emma Potts: A Complex Character
Australian-born actor Emma Potts can be seen on the big screen and in the television projects, including ‘Pimped’, ‘A Nation, Found’, ‘Torment’, ‘Sketches from a Dancer’s Album’ and ‘The Checkout’.
The Los Angeles based artist draws on her training and background in theatre and dance for her on-screen performances. At first glance the audience finds a light, youthful and creative presence, only to be captivated by her talent for performing complex characters in dark-themed projects.
Emma stared in ‘Pimped’, alongside CW’s ‘Gotham’ star, Benedict Samuel, and Ella Scott Lynch. Emma stars in the role of Lieka in the film that tells the story of roommates that lure a woman into a sexual trap and murder. David Barker directed and co-wrote the film that was awarded Best Australian Feature at the 2018 Monster Fest Festival.
Emma portrayed a leading role in the film, ‘A Nation, Found’, written and directed by Arman S. Haghi. In the role, Emma performs as a dancer interpreting the story of Australia’s foundation as a nation. The piece was choreographed collaboratively with Eve White, an indigenous Wiradjuri woman and teacher, and Jessica Steed, who both co-star. Produced by Allied Media Australia, the film was shortlisted at Tropfest Film Festival in 2018.
