Brooke Turner Releases Her New Single ‘Wish I Could Forget You’.

We recently caught up with one of music’s most exciting young stars, Brooke Turner. We recently caught up with her in between her busy schedule, to talk about the release of her new single ‘Wish I Could Forget About You’ and some other exciting news she has to share. Here is what she had to say:

Please introduce yourself to the readers and when did you first get into music ?

Hello readers! My parents always tell me that I started singing before I started talking, so I guess I’ve always been a very music person. Though, my first official venture into music was when I was 7 years old, because my choir teacher at the time told my parents that I was very talented and that I should hone that talent and start lessons. Basically, that started the ball rolling for my music and I :)

What inspired you to get into the music industry?

Since I started when I was so young with voice lessons, it was really a natural progression. The real turning point, I would say, is when I started writing songs. Writing really allowed me to understand more of who I am as an artist and help me venture into the industry.

What inspired you to start writing your own songs?

I started writing songs when I was in grade 10, I guess I was about 14 or 15 years old. At my school, they had a project called personal project and basically you chose a topic to learn about and then I did a project on it for my grades. When I was first deciding what to do, it was actually a toss up between songwriting and Italian — it’s a good thing I chose songwriting because it was definitely a defining starting point in my music career! Also, getting 100% on the project really helped me believe that I must be pretty decent at it, giving me the confidence in my writing to propel me to where I am today.

What kind of training have you had, if any?

I started lessons when I was 7 years old, though when I started it was actually in classical music. This allowed me to really understand healthy technique. I actually originally planned to go into opera and study at Julliard, but once I started writing, I discovered my true passion was in pop music. From there I studied with various pop coaches around the country; Seth Riggs, Brett Manning, Raab Stevenson, Dave Stroud, among many others. I have also taken songwriting courses from Berklee College of Music to help polish my writing. All this diverse training allowed me the knowledge to use multiple techniques to create my sound.

What has been your favorite song you wrote so far?

So far, I would definitely say my favorite song to write was “Wish I Could Forget You” because it’s journey was so interesting. When I first wrote the song, the title was “Love and Leave You” and the chorus was so different. Lyrically, we decided to cut it in half from the first version to make it more anthem like and punchy. As a result, we then had to change the melody to match. During this point the title was still called “Love and Leave You”, until a session where my producer (Patrizio Moi) asked me why I wrote the song.

After thinking about it for a minute, I realized it was because I wanted to express how much confusion and inner turmoil that person caused me and how easy it would be to forget them, how I wished I could forget them. Instantly, we both had the same idea being that “Wish I Could Forget You” would make a great title. From there, the song unfolded into what you now know it as today!

What has been one of the most exciting achievements of your career so far?

I would say that being taken on by my amazing team is a pretty big achievement so far. My team consists of my producer Patrizio Moi, producer for Justin Bieber, Gallant, Meghan Trainer and many others — the minds beyond the promotion and strategy Matt Mayers Gianluca Pizzorno and Warren Mayers the Soul of the SOULSHAKER among many others who help me to move forward. Together, we have, within the first week of releasing, hit number one on the charts of King of the SPINS, which is an amazing achievement as it is one of the top sites for online radio and DJ’s around the world!

What projects do you have coming up?

Currently, My team and I are pushing my new song “Wish I could Forget You” and our campaign just launched beginning in the UK, extending worldwide!

Who would you most like to work with?

There are so many people that I would love to work with! A few other artists I’d love to collab with would be Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes (#GoCanada), Sia or Bruno Mars. All of these artists are so talented in their own right and I’d be incredibly fortunate to work with any of them! Producer wise, it would be cool to collab with Max Martin, the Chainsmokers, Clean Bandit, or Martin Garrix, and of course Patrizio Moi again as well as many others!

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future are to continue onward and upwards! For my song to break into the top charts and to share my love of music with the world ❤
