Bobby Newberry Performs Virtual Concert For Pridefest 2020 Digital Celebration
Talented artist, creator and director Bobby Newberry recently performed a virtual concert of his songs for Pride Fest 2020 -a digital celebration for LGBTQ (with 100 percent of the the proceeds going to the BLM/Global Community/LGBTQ youth). Bobby put on an uplifting and energetic show with his dancers (Haley Messick , Sohey) joining him for an epic rooftop performance of his songs -filmed by Donovan Okimura.
During his career, Bobby has worked as a successful choreographer and creative director in music and TV for artists like the Pussycat Dolls, Taylor Dayne, Eminem, Eva Longoria for Bebe, Missy Elliott -and for shows like the X Factor and Dancing With The Stars to name a few. Over the years, he has proven his talent through hard work and dedication helping other artists, while continuing to stay creative working on his own projects, along the way. During a very trying time we are all in, Bobby has remained very open with his fans through social media, often expressing his own personal struggles with depression (like many of us) -dealing with the pandemic and isolation -and not being able to perform and do what he loves.
Through our mutual love for Mariah Carey, I was introduced to Bobby and his close friend Misty Copeland who have kindly supported my Mariah Carey fan page on instagram (@Mariahcareyonly1) for the last couple of years, where we all share a common love for her and her music. During this time, I also had the chance to interview Bobby via instagram live which was a complete pleasure, where he talked about his struggles growing up in an underprivileged household, but how music and performing has always helped him make it through.
Bobby Newberry’s story is definitely one that is admirable and proof that hard work, perseverance and always striving to be the best version of yourself, while inspiring others, is always a win-win situation.
