If you’re going to do something, do it right! That ancient and very sage advice has been taken seriously and applied very willingly to the lives of artists, writers, craftsmen and by people in just about every discipline one can think of. The ones who have taken it most earnestly are the ones like Renata Ienco, who make it to the top of their field in a short amount of time.

Renata is a dancer from Australia. She’s not just any average dancer with mediocre talent who is ultimately unrecognizable, she is an extraordinary dancer with enormous talents and skills and something else that the ordinary dancer is lacking in. She has passion and drive and the knowledge that dance, for her, is the most important thing on earth. Those unseen qualities have pushed her and nurtured her through years of intense training and have nudged her toward the upper levels of the dance world itself.

She has been attending dance classes since she was a young girl and has trained with many notables including: Sue Potter, two-time Australian ballroom dance champion; Ashley Killar, former Ballet Master of the Scottish Ballet. She successfully auditioned for Brent Street Performing Arts, Australia’s leading performing arts college and while there, trained under Cameron Mitchell and So You Think You Can Dance Judge Matt Lee. Her training was furthered later at the Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, and Broadway Dance Center in New York City.

Renata’s career spans across stage, TV and commercials. She has performed at the famous Sydney Opera House, Luna Park, and has been a featured dancer on TV shows such as Studio 10, The Today Show and Australia’s Funniest Home Videos. While she was fresh out of college she auditioned for and won a position at La Fiesta Entertainment, which was the first place winner for Latin and Brazilian entertainment in Australia. Soon after, she became a company coach. She also danced at the Hyundai A-League Grand Final (the highest level professional soccer league in Australia and New Zealand). The performance took place before a sold out stadium of 30,000 and was aired nationwide on FOX Sports. These are just a few of Renata’s background highlights. There’s simply not enough room to talk about all of them in this limited space.

Renata has spent the last four years as a key entertainer and choreographer for the Australian Football League. Her most recent visit to Los Angeles, California, was the icing on her metaphorical cake, so to speak. She took a class with the USA Samba Queen of 2016, Jonia McClenney, and after just a few classes Jonia noticed her and Renata was offered a job with Raiz Brazil Dance Company, which was the winner of the first Annual Brazilian Dance Groups Competition in Los Angeles. Renata most recently secured a lead dancing and acting role in the acclaimed The Magician’s Cabaret (voted “top three things to do in Sydney”). The show is choreographed by ballet extraordinaire James Taylor of The Royal Ballet, London. Apparently, Renata Ienco is doing something right!
