Since the age when films had scores previously recorded, rather than live musicians playing in theaters, the entertainment industry was never the same again. The emotions you feel time after time while watching your favorites are subliminally polarized by this “behind the scenes” relationship between artists and audio engineers.

Some people believe that beauty lies within the cracks of the foundation. The gifted individuals you usually hear nothing about, are almost always the ones who have the most impact on a body of work. Our story today is about the wildly talented and extremely meticulous female powerhouse named Anna Muehlichen. Since arriving in Los Angeles she has quickly made a name for herself in the film/music industry and continues on the path to success. Working alongside some of the heaviest hitters in the entertainment industry at Igloo Music, she has been representing women everywhere who feel intimidated in a male dominated field.

Once under the wing of Igloo Music, Anna was able to be a part of some of the hottest new projects over the past year! The last few months she has been able to rack up credits on some of the biggest movies of the last few years including Deadpool 2, Moana (Hawaiian) and Smallfoot.

What was it like to be a part of such a large production with a star-studded cast like Smallfoot?

It was surreal at first! Coming out here to LA was a big move for me and to now witness where all the magic happens is incredible. You know when you’re looking at the credits at the end of a movie and you think to yourself, wow, it really does take a village. Now I’m a part of that village! It is such a blessing for me to be able to bring my two passions, film and music, together. A lot of projects this past year have allowed me to do that.

Anna also shares that she has had the opportunity to work for the Walt Disney Company since the beginning of this year. She contributed to various Disney projects including Disney on Ice, Disney Amazon Echo and Disney Toys. She mixed and edited the voices of well-known actors such as Mark Hamill, Jim Hanks (Toy Story) and Russi Taylor (The original voice of Minnie Mouse).

It was always my dream to work for Disney! When I was little I was convinced that I’d be in a High School Musical movie (laughs). It’s so inspiring to see these artists continue to create beautiful stories, visuals and music. As an audio engineer I want to be able to bring out the best in the music and voices that have been recorded. Sometimes I feel like a magician in a way where I can change the sounds and emotions completely. It’s been incredible to be a part of this and I’m not planning on stopping anytime soon.
