Dive Assad, is not only a stunning beauty, but also a successful actress who has the drive to do amazing and inspiring things in the world. We recently caught up with her to see what she’s been working on and what else she has coming up, here is what she had to say:

Hi Dive, its great catching up with you! Since we last spoke, what have you been up to?

I’ve been very blessed. I shot some pretty cool commercials, one with the legendary Wayne McClammy, I did a very funny sketch for Telemundo and was blessed enough to stand on stage. Last year I also filmed a pretty cool movie that will be out at the end of the year.

What has been one of your favorite projects to work on so far?

I recently shot a feature called Insolación. I’ve always wanted to work with Rogelio Sanchez Toledo, he has a reputation in Mexico for having a risky and experimental vision. This film in particular is very dark and raw and sort of a scream for help -and a chance to take a peek at the near future. It is very heartbreaking to see the consequences of not taking care of our planet. I think he does a great job keeping it very realistic, but strong enough that you can’t watch it without thinking “what have we done”? Plus the locations where insane!

What has been one of the biggest highlights/achievements of your career?

Working with Wayne McClammy, he is such a legend, I felt so blessed to have had the opportunity to work with him on two commercials for Dos Equis. He is the perfect director, because he is very clear on what he wants, but also gives you the freedom to bring things to the table -which is incredibly important too. Also the crew was so much fun to work with and there were many people who actually recognized me from that commercial! People kept sending me screenshots and sweet messages. I think that was definitely a highlight.

Who has been one of your favorite actors/filmmakers you have worked with so far and why?

I have two. Mena Suvari, because she is such an icon, I grew up watching her movies and I love her. It was awesome to work with her on a live performance at the Greek Film Festival and see that she is an incredible human being too. And Jesús Moré, it was so much fun working with him in Entre Dos, he is just the most incredible actor ever. I loved loved working with him.

What other projects do you have coming up?

Well, Insolación is going to premiere at the end of this year and I can’t wait to share it with everyone! I’m very proud of the work we all did. We became a family. I am also shooting a Spanish film in the next couple of months. I’m very excited, because I’ve worked with the director before and can’t wait to collaborate again. It’s like family reuniting.

What is your best piece of advice for aspiring artists?

Work. Just do the work! It doesn’t matter if it’s a small role or a commercial. Just give it your all, always.
