We recently caught up with talented French sisters Fanny and Dalida who have their own handbag line entitled ‘LeednaBo’. Growing up watching their mother sew around the house, gave them both a passion for designing their very own outfits and accessories -and the rest as they say, is history. Now all of their hard work has really started to pay off, as their beautiful handbags are now creating buzz all around the world. Here is what the sisters had to say in a recent interview:

Hi! Nice to meet you both. How did you come up with the name LeednaBo for your handbag line?

LeednaBo came from a tragedy in my life 10 years ago when I lost my baby whose name was Laeden. Leedna came from Laeden (a mix of letters) and Bo is a short way to say beau (which means beautiful in French).

What inspired you to get into the design industry? Did it start with clothing or were you always interested in handbags?

We came from a big sewing family. Our mom used to sew our clothes and sometimes accessories and we used to watch her. Then, we started designing outfits clothing and handbags — as we were interested with both.

Tell us about your very first design and how hard/easy it was:

Our first design was the Dandy handbag, the only difficulty we found was the communication between us and the manufacturer (which used to be in China, but is now in California). It was hard to find good quality material and colors — and to have the exact design we were looking for our first handbag.

What do you look for when designing a new bag? Is there a special formula you follow each time?

We always put ourselves as a customer first and think of the reason why we would buy a certain handbag and what we would look for.

What is trending right now in the handbag world?

The backpacks, the cabas and clutches.

What type of feedback are you getting from consumers? Is there a demand for a certain kind of style?

We’ve got a lot of positive feedback. Our customers like the Dandy handbag a lot because of the size (one customer said she likes it because she can put her computer inside). Our clutches also work very well (one customer said when she doesn’t want to take her handbag, she just uses the clutch during the day — or at night and she can still be chic).

What has been your favorite job to work on so far and why?

I have worked in different fashion stores and it was a good experience, being in contact and helping customers. It has helped me to this day with our own brand. I’m not a fan of all my jobs so far, but I’ve learned a lot from each one.

What would your dream job be? Or who would you love to own one of your bags?

To keep building the LeednaBo legacy: working with Meghan Markle, Oprah Winfrey, Nicky Hilton, Chrissy Teigen and the list goes on! lol.

Thanks for taking the time out to answer our questions!

Thank you for the opportunity 😊
