Not your ordinary solider; while his fellow men and women comrades were stuck in the haze of military life, Daniel Sorochkin had other thoughts on his mind. Always having a passion for writing and directing, Sorochkin chose to use his time in the military to his personal and career advantage. His journey of filmmaking started in his military unit in the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces), where he wrote and directed several acclaimed comedic films about the unit. It was here that Daniel Sorochkin realized his talents and decided to pursue a career in the glamorous and hardworking industry of entertainment.

After his time in the service, Sorochkin moved to the US to study filmmaking at the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts in the center of one of the most culturally inspiring cities of the world, New York. Following his studies, Sorochkin continued honing his skills and stayed in New York City to keep pushing forward and worked hard to create a successful career for himself. It was at this point in time that Daniel Sorochkin directed several impressive productions. These ranging from Shady Pines, a comedic TV pilot about a crazy nursing home. As well as Check Please, a short narrative in the romantic comedy genre. Check Please went on an impressive and highly successful festival run, screening in acclaimed festivals that are Academy Award and BAFTA accredited like, Flickerfest International Short Film Festival, Aesthetica Short Film Festival and Hollyshorts Monthly.

Check Please was released online on March 27th 2017 through the prestigious Short of the Week platform. That platform is known to launch some of the most acclaimed short films in the world. Daniel also directed a short called Lola and Dallas, a mystery drama about an unusual pair on the run. That short is starring Alessandra Mesa who was also the lead in the acclaimed short Superior (2015) that premiered at Sundance. The intense variety of the works produced, shows Sorochkin’s talent and incredible ability to not only write, but direct his creative works.

From his days as a young soldier in the Israeli Defense Forces, Daniel Sorochkin was destined for greatness. His multi talented personality shines throughout his various productions. Focusing on both drama and comedy, his two specialties. He is certainly a creative mind that has accomplished much in his career and has no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
